The Cherek Gorge is located in the Zylgi-Tar gorge. The Cherek River flows along the bottom of the gorge. From the height of the road to the bottom – 500 meters. A hiking trail runs along the edge. Previously, this path was used as a road. Now, for convenience and safe passage, 2 tunnels have been created, connected by a jumper

The journey through this gorge leads to the village of Upper Balkaria, and then further to the Kabardino-Balkarian Biosphere Reserve through the border post.
